Allen and Denae are graduates of the Encounter School of Ministry and feel a deep call to help families encounter the love of God and form families that are a reflection of God’s love. Denae was raised in a Marriage Encounter family who was also involved in the Catholic Charismatic movement in Houston, TX. Allen attended Catholic schools and was greatly influenced by his devout maternal grandmother whose prayers helped him through his youth and young adulthood.

Allen and Denae met in their senior year of high school and were married in 1990 just as they were completing their college degrees. They raised their nine children in the suburbs of Austin, TX and in 2020, relocated to Charlotte, NC.

They founded Your Holy Family ministries in 2013 and have developed a model of family ministry centered around enabling parents to raise their children according to God’s plan for their family.

Allen and Denae’s life experiences have included both joys and sufferings. We have experienced the joy of welcoming new life into our family nine times, celebrating our children’s marriages and becoming grandparents. We have also experienced the painful process of healing from childhood trauma, navigating the pain of a fractured relationship with an adult child due to mental illness and caring for and burying aging parents.

We don’t have all the answers, but we know someone who does, and we will partner with you to ask the Lord for the wisdom and grace to assist you in following God’s plan for raising a family after God’s own heart.
